Start of school information
We look forward to welcoming all students back to school in February 2026, and a special welcome to all our new students. Everything whānau need for the first days of the year is here — start dates, daily times, downloads and stationery lists.
Start dates 2026
All Year 9 students and those new to Rosehill College will start on Monday 2 February. All other students will begin on Tuesday 3 February. Each group of students is expected to attend school for the whole time on their allocated day.

Getting ready for day one
- Daily times
- Classes begin at 8:50am, so please ensure your child arrives with time to be in their classroom by the beginning of the school day. Tuesday starts later, with no Period 1.
- School buses
- Buses commence their normal runs from the morning of Monday 2 February and pick students up from college at 3:20pm.
- Manaakitia Mai group
- Your student's 2026 Manaakitia Mai group is on the emailed version of the start-of-year letter — students need to know this for their first day at school.
- Picking up students
- Please arrange to meet your child off site after school. Buses and hundreds of students on foot use the front entrance, so cars cannot come in at pick-up time.
