In-zone enrolment

All students who live within the Rosehill College zone are entitled to enrol at the College. Complete your application online for a fast and straightforward process — you can check if you are in zone for Rosehill College by entering your address.

If you do not have access to an electronic device, computers are available at our front office for you to complete your online enrolment. Our front office staff are also available to assist you with the process.

In-zone enrolment, step by step

Before you start

We strongly encourage you to complete the enrolment application online, ideally on a desktop computer or laptop for the best experience.

Please note: submitting your application online does not guarantee automatic acceptance. All submissions will be reviewed, and you will receive confirmation via email once the process is complete.

To get started, download the required forms (which can be filled out electronically using a Microsoft Edge browser or Adobe Acrobat for Drive). Be sure to save the completed forms, as they will be uploaded to the 'Attachments' section later in this application.

If you are unable to upload and submit the required forms and supporting documents online, you can complete the application with just the information and details. You may then bring the documents to the school office or email them separately to enrolments@rosehillcollege.school.nz. Our front office staff are available to assist with scanning and entering your documents into our system.

If you prefer to complete the enrolment process using paper forms, you can collect an enrolment pack from our front office. The office is open from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Please ensure all forms are signed and submitted to avoid any delays in the enrolment process.

We also ask that you take a moment to read through Our Rosehill College Way, which outlines our school-wide rules and expectations. It is important that both you and your child/children familiarise yourselves with these guidelines before completing the enrolment. This helps ensure a smooth transition and supports a positive, respectful learning environment for all.

Supporting documents

To facilitate the processing of enrolment applications, we kindly request digital copies of the following documents, preferably in PDF format.

Compulsory documents:

  • Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Student's Visa: for students who are not New Zealand/Australian citizens.
  • Legal or Guardianship documents: any legal documents (e.g. Guardianship, Parenting Order, Custody Order, Protection Order), if applicable.
  • Proof of Address: TWO different documents, each with the caregiver's name, supply address or rating unit where the student lives, and with the most recent date.
    • Tenancy Agreement or Council Rates bill
    • Electricity bill or Water bill

If you are unable to provide the required proof of address, you must complete a statutory declaration confirming your current residential address. This must be signed and witnessed by an authorised person (such as a Justice of the Peace). The declaration must include your full residential address and any other details required in the form. Failure to provide acceptable proof of address or a completed statutory declaration may result in a delay or refusal of enrolment. For further information or assistance, please contact the enrolment office.

Additional supporting documents:

  • Latest school report: from the student's previous school.

File naming and format: all uploaded documents should be in .pdf, .png or .jpg format and clearly named. Please use the student's last name, followed by first name, and then the document type. For example: Smith, John Enrolment Forms.pdf

Confirmation of enrolment

If you are enrolling from within our designated zone, your child's admission will be confirmed promptly upon the completion and verification of the required documents. Please be aware that this process may take some time, depending on the volume of applications. Once enrolment is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email or letter.

It is essential to ensure that we have been provided with your correct email address and phone number to avoid delays in communication.

We remind all families that, under government legislation, schools are permitted to ask a student to leave immediately if it is found that they did not reside permanently within the Rosehill College zone at the time of enrolment.

Out-of-zone enrolment

Out-of-zone enrolment

All out-of-zone enrolment applicants must collect an Out-of-Zone Enrolment Pack from the school reception. Online applications for out-of-zone enrolments are not accepted and will not be processed.

A non-refundable administration fee of $50 is payable when the completed out-of-zone application is submitted. This fee applies to all out-of-zone applications and is not refundable, regardless of the outcome of the ballot process.

How out-of-zone places are allocated

Each year, the Rosehill College Board will determine the number of places likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the home zone. The Board will publish this information on our school website. The notice will indicate how applications are to be made and will specify a date by which all applications must be received.

Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:

  1. First priority: this priority is not applicable at this school because the school does not run a special programme approved by the Secretary for Education.
  2. Second priority: will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
  3. Third priority: will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
  4. Fourth priority: will be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
  5. Fifth priority: will be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the board of the school or a child of a member of the board of the school.
  6. Sixth priority: will be given to all other applicants.

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, or fifth priority groups than there are available places, selection within the priority group will be determined by ballot, conducted in accordance with the instructions of the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the ballot date by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.

Applicants seeking second or third priority status may be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.
